There is no double standard. No one is giving her a free pass here. She
did a horrible thing. She was also psychotic (mentally ill). It doesn't
appear that her husband was. She was in a position of submission to a man
and a belief system. The husband may have been brainwashed as well, but
he wasn't the one giving birth to 5 kids and he wasn't psychotic. There
is a HUGE difference. Unfortunately, I imagine the preacher skates free.
She was in no state of mind to decide anything rationally for herself,
yet the state of Texas wants to kill her?

Of course there is a double-standard, unless you think it would be
societally forgiveable for him to drown her because she refused to have
sex with him.

After all, he was indoctrinated that women are to be submissive.

Are you deliberately ignoring the fact that she was mentally ill and he
wasn't?
