When we did our will the attorney said to not put our personal things in it
(like the wedding ring to so and so), but to just write these things down
and keep it with your will, or give a copy to each kid. That's basically
what my mom did, too.

My 85-year-old stepfather said an attorney spoke to them at the seniorHow have you taken care of everything with beneficiaries? Surely you own
citizens center Thursday and spoke of power of attorney (revoked when the
person who gives it dies) and wills. She said that if a person owns a
car
and dies, that car will have to go to probate even in there isn't
anything
else in the estate. We have everything taken care of with beneficiaries
(not any kind of "estate" here) except our cars. Would hate to pay $200
or
more for a will just for two cars.
personal property that must be distributed, that sort of thing. You can
take care of bank accounts by making them joint with survivorship, but
most people don't realize how many affairs they have to be handled until
they sit down and look at the big picture. Do you have a wedding ring or
a special pendant that you'd like someone special to have? Telling them
is never ever enough. Telling a hundred people isn't enough.
"Estate" doesn't imply great wealth or land ownership; it's everything
left when you die.
