Does verbatim really mean that?

I'm starting the wonderful process of testing for a few companies. And as
you all know, I've been overthinking things lately. When they say
"verbatim," do they really mean that, or do they want me to change dangerous
abbreviations and such? I know that only the companies can answer that
question definitively, but I don't want to look like an idiot not changing
things I know SHOULD be changed because I was doing it verbatim. Or
somewhat worse, change things and have them not hire me because they are
concerned about line padding.

When things start getting this complicated, I know it's really time to take
a day (or seven) and just float in the pool with a glass of sangria! That's
what I'd be doing today, as a matter of fact, if my car battery hadn't died
on me!
