Barbary Coast

I've stayed at the Barbary Coast twice by myself (female) and was very pleased with it. I stayed there to attend conventions at nearby hotels. I did not eat at the Barbary as their one restaurant was upscale and expensive. Nor did I gamble there as their slots seemed not to pay back much. It's a small, conveniently located hotel on the strip, which probably has its days numbered. The parking structure above the hotel was quick in/quick out compared to walking blocks to and from parking in a larger hotel. The rooms were clean and quite spacious, with a turn-of-the-century bordello look--lots of dark green and burgundy, swag drapes, etc. Bathroom floor looked like it was original with the old fashioned tiny black/white hexagonal tiles. Each evening I was there a security guard sat at the elevators, permitting only guests to go up into the hotel. I highly recommend it for a strip location, although my preference is to stay downtown (Golden Nugget being my favorite downtown location) where everything is close by.
