Our A/C went out one summer when I was working at home. I tried
valiantly to make it without, but couldn't do it. This is a tiny little
house, low ceilings, plunked right down in a cluster of hickory and oak
trees, very shaded. But Arkansas is just to blessed hot to go without
air.
The house is so small that one window unit in the living room (yes,
ugly, yes, loud) cools this whole house down almost too much. I have to
put on socks sometimes.
