Re: Teen battles state over cancer treatment

If so, is that not
generally a cancer with a good chance of cure?

"Survival rates of those diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease are in excess
of 80 percent, but the rates drop for those whose cancer returns after
a first round of chemotherapy.

According to studies compiled by the American Cancer Society, the
five-year survival rate for those who undergo a second round of
chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant is between one-third and
one-half, depending on the treatment facility."

I dunno what I would do - one of those decisions i hope I never have to
deal with. My eldest daughter and I have had *what if* discussions and
it usually comes back to me saying I would not be able to let her go -
I would not be able to give up hope that tomorrow there would be a
cure...and that is selfish on my part, I am sure. OTOH - I couldn't
bear to see her suffer...dunno, dunno, don't wanna know. Mary
