Re: New mosquito repellant?

Deep Woods Off towelettes don't work for me. I use a combination of the
towelettes and Skin So Soft bath oil and still get bitten. We entertain at
night throughout the summer, and use one of those lantern thingies. If I
sit close to it, plus use the other two agents, they leave me alone. Two
weeks ago our local paper had an article on an anti-mosquito patch with is
made locally (AgraCo, Mosquito Patch, 2 in a packet for $2.95 at the 5 &
Under stores. I ran right out and bought five packets, and immediately
slapped on onto my upper inner arm. These are supposed to activate the
vitamin B in the body which evidently creates an odor that only mosquitos
smell and which they don't like. It's supposed to be applied 2 hours before
needing protection, should be worn for 24 hours, and provides protection for
36 hours. I waited 3 hours before going back to the tomato patch, and
within 45 seconds I was swatting mosquitoes as usual. However, about 5
hours later, after having applied one of the Deep Woods Off towelettes
without Skin So Soft, I was able to eat dinner outside without being
pestered by mosquitos. Coincidence? Maybe. I'll have to give them another
try.

I have a bottle of it. It's better than nothing, but not as good as the
Deep Woods Off towelettes that I usually use. It does smell better!

Has anyone tried any of the products with picaridin(?). It's supposed to
be as effective as DEET, but without the awful smell.
