Ours was a Christmas present from my son. I didn't think I wanted it until
I had it. Now I would hate to give it up. He bought his--and ours, so I
really can't tell you that much. I think my daughter rents hers. We've had
to replace ours a couple of times, but once you buy it they have a
replacement policy of some sort that covers most of the replacement. We
also have DirectTV. My son has rental property in Colorado, and lives here
most of the year, and he has a single bill that furnishes everything both
here and in Colorado--I think there are 5 different locations altogether. I
don't even know what it costs, but he said it was a good deal when he was
able to get coverage for both locations on one bill. But, I love the TIVO.
I watch everything on MY terms and without commercials.

Yes, it's rebroadcast on another channel at about 9:30, but by then
I'm usually on to other things.
I've promised myself a TiVo before the fall shows get going. I think
I better get on it. I have DirecTV, and I always see their promo
offers for new customers but haven't yet started to research what they
offer to existing customers. Any opinions on whether it's better to
buy the machine (which I understand is both the receiver and the DVR)
and pay a monthly fee, versus renting the hardware from them?

I have felt it was getting shorter! How come it is on at 6 where you are.
Don't they rebroadcast it at a more civil time? You NEED TIVO! I enjoy
the
show, but not enough to get up at 6 on a Sunday morning.

I love CBS Sunday Morning, but I usually hear more of it than I see.
I tend to wake up around 5:30 or 6 a.m., but I don't get out of bed.
I turn on the TV and then doze for another hour or so (OK, two hours,
but who's counting?). So, I hear the line-up of stories at the start
of the show, then I end of sleeping through most of them. And has
anybody noticed that the "minute" of nature at the end of the show is
now more like 20-30 seconds? That bugs me. Oh well, it allows one
more commercial break, right?

That's one show I hate to miss, even though it means turning on the TV
at the ungodly hour of 6 a.m. It's a good way to start (or end) the
week, and I always look forward to that last minute or so of nature.
