I have always thought it was odd that it started as a child. I remember
driving through there with my mom sick with the mumps and getting scolded by
dad when I brought up mom being sick in the car when we stopped at a
restaurant and saying something about "Texas" not necessarily in the same
breath as mom being sick. I actually was only about 6 or 7 but in my
childish mind the link of having to be quiet about mom being sick/Texas
stuck I guess so they were "bad" people to my mom!!! :) Who knows, but even
when I was 10 I can remember saying, Oh, I don't like Texas and my mom
saying, How do you know? I would say, I just know!! :)
