Re: Break in the JonBenet Ramsey case

When I was teaching SCUBA diving in the Keys I got to dread it when I saw my
students were from Texas! They were the most obnoxious (not all, I had a
good friend from Texas, too.) They were the most difficult to teach because
they knew more than I did and obviously resented a woman teaching them. I
got called "little lady" once (which I definitely am not). I cured a couple
of them by letting them get into difficulty by not following my advice (not
life threatening, of course, but enough to make them listen the next time).

At that time my son was teaching skiing in Colorado and I found he had the
same opinion of Texans that I did! And used some of the same tactics
teaching! He gave me this mental picture of the stereotypical Texan flying
down the slopes in their fur coat and cowboy hat! Somehow that picture
flashes into view whenever someone mentions Texas.

My Texan friend, who was really a very nice person, used to remind me that
ALL Texans weren't like that.
