Re: Cross-Stitch Question

I bought a software program that does this--some time ago, but I'm a big
help because I haven't even put it on my machine. Supposedly you scan the
photo, drawing, whatever and it will produce the diagram for counted cross
stitch. Looks simple, but I cannot vouch for it. It was not expensive, but
I don't remember. My daughter sent me a lovely picture of her cats, and I
wanted to do it for her, but that was for last Christmas, and it obviously
is not going to get done for this Christmas either!

While cleaning out my grandparents' house, I came across some pretty paper
placemats that Grandma had saved. Is there a way they could be scanned
and turned into a diagram for counted cross stitch?

One of them actually does look like cross stitch, so it would be easy to
stitch it using the placemat as a diagram, but the other two look like
embroidery/crewel (I don't do crewel).

Thanks!
