Don't know why that should be any more controversial than finding that
blacks are more prone to hypertension or people with Mediterranean
forebears are prone to TCP or Asians are more prone to gastric cancer.
When giving an HPI, ethnicity IS considered pertinent history for a good
reason.

Will be interesting to see how they use this information and how the
numbers change, once they figure out how to deal with it.

It's only controversial if you are a reverse racist that believes that there
aren't any physical and/or physiologic differences between races.

I remember getting into a huge debate with someone when I mentioned that
when you do PFT tests on blacks you have to use a different scale for
measuring total lung capacity because they generally have larger lung
volumes than average.

This person told me I was a racist.

I guess I should have just used the normal values and reported erroneous
volumes whenever I tested someone who was black.
