Re: Kill The Troll

Once again ... I'm not defending Ed. I'm merely agreeing with what he said
YESTERDAY. What Ed said yesterday has no bearing on something that happened
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or more years ago. You have to separate the issues or what he
said yesterday will get lost in all the verbal fist fights.

Try this ... pretend you were never around during the entire MTQ fiasco.
Block that out of your mind. It didn't happen. Look at the message that Ed
wrote, but it wasn't Ed who wrote it. Let's say "John" wrote it (or Millie,
or Betty, or Calvin ... whoever). Read the message and forget the messenger.
(Remember, 2002 never happened in the first place).

Okay, now, that is what I'm responding to, The words alone and not who wrote
them. I'm not defending the poster (for something that never happened in
the first place ... hypothetically speaking), just agreeing with what they
wrote as it pertains to the current situation.

But I will say this ... hypothetically speaking, if nobody had responded to
MTQ back in 2002, how long do you think things would have continued?
Definitely not as long as they did and the attacks probably never would have
escalated to the point that they did, and the people who were unjustifiably
attacked would not have been.

Remember ... you can't be hurt by a figment of imagination.

I don't understand why you are defending someone who pulled this crap, then
acts so righteously indignant when others respond to the same thing he
incited.

I said: Better yet ... stop smacking at the hornet's nest.

You said: Who hasn't posted about the troll in DAYS and who came here
starting a post

titled Kill the Troll? Now, who's smacking at a hornet's nest?

I don't see where one has anything to do with the other. If you mean that
"Sheila" has not posted in days, possibly TPTB took care of things. And
Ed clearly stated ... "I am only responding to this because my name is
mentioned in here." I don't see a problem with that.

I think who's smacking at the hornet's nest is fairly obvious, if you've
been following the responses all along.

Let me be direct:
1. To those who have said nothing, keep saying nothing. Do not respond
to anyone you feel is a troll, and do not contribute to any conversation
about a troll, no matter how much you want to. By doing that, you are
making them a viable entity. They are not a viable entity. They are a
non-entity. Treat them that way.
2. To those who have responded with words such as "yawn," that's what
you're not supposed to do. If you think you are bothering them, you're
not. You are making them a viable entity, which is what they want. Do #1.
3. To those who have been viciously attacked and struck back with harsh
words, i.e. "You're sick ..." See #2 and do #1.
4. STOP posting private information in this newsgroup (this one is
divorced, that one got married, my kid's name is ...). Janice had the
right idea. Save it for email. The less known about you, the better.

Finally, let go of the past.
