I didn't read the link, but if you're talking about bariatric surgery -0
good gosh, they do it at drop of a hat. I've weighed as much as 100 lbs
different over time in my life - or darn sure close - and I wouldn't
risk that kind of surgery for that weight loss.
Well, while some may do it at the drop of a hat, I am sure they all don't.
I don't know that I would have it, though, as I know three people who have.
One died as a direct result of complications a few years down the road.
Another has had numerous subsequent surgeries, bowel perfs, medically
induced comas to overcome major infections MANY YEARS after the surgery
(15) etc. and still will never be healthy again and has, to the best of my
understanding, had to have it "reversed" and is still dying from the
results of complications after the fact and one is a very young girl who
had it simply because she wasn't disciplined enough and now her life will
be over soon and her quality of life isn't all that great now.
Of course, I also do work for a cardiologist who refers patients for them
and does preop evals for them all the time and he has many success stories.
