Re: New Career?

Now I have seriously considered being a vet assistant or working at a vet.
There is a vet ER hospital on my road and that place is extraordinary. I
thought about going in there and asking if there was something that I might
be able to do there. My only problem!...I am allergic to cats and some dogs
(not so good if you want to work at a vet).

I wish I could have been a veterinarian. It was almost impossible for a
woman to become a vet in those days, and sciences weren't my strength.

I raised and showed horses for years. Wish I could have made more money
at it, but I was really happy doing it and did well enough to afford it.

I loved teaching SCUBA diving in the Keys! Didn't pay enough.

I wish I could have figured out a way to make a decent living with my
sewing and/or artistic talents.

But, I like transcription--fell into it by accident when my husband
developed health problems and we couldn't keep the farm up any more.
Still have 2 horses, and now I show my dog.

As Laura so astutely observed, "There are far better paying jobs out
there, which take a lot less skill to perform and a lot less stress
involved. Go figure."

So if we had to choose another profession, what would it be and why?

I think I might consider becoming a radiation tech. I do still like
medical. Or, go back to waitressing. I was an excellent waitress and
always went home with a wad of money in my pocket!
