Re: Anyone grow up with someone who

I might have grown up with someone famous, but I can't think right now.

What I did do was have for a roommate for 2 years a girl who was in theater.
We were best of friends. She later married a person who owns a Broadway
theater and who writes for a New York publication and produces I believe.
His last name is Matthow. She is divorced from him now and remarried
someone else and moved down into the Atlanta area, but I know her well and
some of the things we used to do together!

On another note, I worked in TV for 2 years and met a lot of celebrities,
but I particularly knew one of the news anchors who went on to be a very
very popular news anchor up in Connecticut (friend of Oprah too) and she is
such a sweetheart. I knew a bunch of her business because she would just
sit down and tell you. It must be nice to be a woman and make over 7
figures in salary. I wrote her not long ago and she wrote me telling me
what her son was doing, etc., just like the years had not gone by!

My nephew works in Hollywood as a musical writer for movie themes as well as
writes for Broadway plays. I hear the goods on some name brand people
through him.

I have met 3 of the James Bonds (sat next to one at a Hollywood Italian
bistro--Timothy Dalton, met Sean Connery just by shaking his hand while I
was staying at The Venetian a few years ago, and then was eating at a
restaurant as these two walked into The Oceans Club--on Paradise Island,
Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hiatt(sp?) while we were there and all within a
2-year period.

When I lived in Sacto, I was eating in the Bull Market one night and Jack
Nicholson was sitting at a table next to us along with Soupy Sales as well
as the entire acting staff of Cuckoo's Nest. Not knowing who they were, I
chose Soupy Sales to get the autograph of him!!...not a friendly chap at
all, but I got the autograph for the kids.

While living in Florida, I was eating in a restaurant where Sid Cesar
(remember him??) was at as he was in a play down there in Jacksonville and
we were at an oceanfront restaurant. The man was simply charming, looked
nothing near his age, and he was actually wearing fitted jeans!

On Beverly Hills Drive getting out to go shopping, Larry King walked right
next to the car with his red suspenders, big head and very small body.

That guy who was in that movie with Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt, the movie
with the dog, what's that guy's name...Greg something or another...nice
looking...was also eating in that little Italian Bistro that night.

So met some stars and lived with a gal that married a Broadway celebrity of
sorts, dated a very popular DeeJay from GA once, worked with some big names
in the TV industry while working at the TV station, including a very high
paid anchor, but cannot remember if I grew up with anyone who is a well
known. :( Seems like someone I went to school with is and if I think of
who it is, I will let you know.

became real famous? So famous that you maybe could sell stories to the
Inquirer about them.

Just curious am I today. I was trying to think if I could even
remember much about my friends of elementary or junior high school so
that I would know if they were holding themselves out to be something
different than they were back then.

Janice
Lessee, now. Not really me, but my sister's friend is Squidward of
Sponge Bob fame. :)
