Re: OT - Merry Christmas!

Probably my favorite childhood gift and I don't know if it was Christmas or
b-day was a realistic Gerber baby doll. She was rubber and tiny and I loved
her. I took her everywhere and literally wore her out. Her rubber arms
literally got holes in them and I would cry and put Band-Aids on her and cry
because she was hurt. I think I had to eventually throw her away. I wanted
a new one so bad that when they came out with the big Gerber baby my friends
in the 70s bought it for me for my birthday. But my neighbor (an elderly
lady) was a doll collector and actually had the same doll as mine in her
collection. She had crocheted a cute dress for hers and had a catalog where
I could order one, which I never did. When she died her daughter gave me
the Gerber baby saying when her mom was sick she had told her to be sure
that I got the Gerber baby for all I had done for her! It is here in my
china closet in my office and I love it -- it now has double memories for
me.

You guys are such wusses. My favorite gift was a Handy Andy Tool Kit, bought with S&H Green stamps, because I wanted to be like my dad. Of course, he ended up borrowing my tools most of the time and took forever to return them.
