I was wondering about the Boniva. Heck, so you can't sit or stand easily for given time. You'd have to be in pretty sad shape not to manage it just once a month, right?

I personally would not want to have a fractured hip from osteoporosis. My grammie died after a fractured hip and so did my mother-in-law. They couldn't amputate because of her condition, and if she hadn't died before hand, the leg would just have rotted.

That's a very scary side effect. The worst part is that the medication never goes away because it becomes part of the bone. So, if I take Fosamax now in my 40s, and need dental surgery 20 years later, I would still have the risk of getting osteonecrosis of the jaw.
