Re: If you still think we can win in Iraq..

Do you believe we have fewer freedoms now that we would have if those who
want to kill us and take over our country succeed? If you feel our freedom
is curtailed now, what do you think would happen if the Islamic terrorists
who want to kill us take over? You're a woman, and women are not valuable
to them. If you have lost any freedoms, I don't know what they could be.
If it weren't for previous wars that killed our sons and daughters, you
wouldn't have any freedoms at all.

I don't know of anyone who believes there is a win/win situation to
war . . . any war. Neither do I believe it is patriotic to tell our troops
that they are fighting to the death for an unjust war. I don't call that
backing our troops 100%.

Can't think of one reason others should like us when we don't even like
ourselves. Guess they figure if we hate ourselves and our own government
then it is okay for them to hate us too. Americans who hate what we have
(but still continue to live here and enjoy their lives) are the one's
giving the outsiders permission (even to the extent of encouraging them) to
hate us.

I don't plan on getting into a long tirade about this. I am not trying to
change anyone's mind, and certainly no one who believes as you do will ever
change mine.

Our troops are not over their fighting for OUR freedom. Indeed this war
has
caused severe limitations of OUR freedom. Is it lack of patriotism that
causes us to not want our young men and women (and not-so-young men and
women) to die for what is not and was not a just cause? My patriotism and
love for my country causes me real grief to see the hatred our country is
held in by even countries who used to be our friends. My patriotism is
offended by the slaughter of not only our citizens, but by the slaughter
of
innocent victims in other countries. I support our troops 100%, but not
the people who put them in this "no win" situation.
