((For many years I've used only one credit card -- a Southwest Airlines
Visa through Chase. The annual fee is pretty low and I usually score
2-3 free Rapid Rewards coupons per year, which works for me because
most of my travel is on the West Coast. I always pay my full balance
each month. Of course, I never look at the inserts that come with the
bill, but this month I happened to notice a "finance charge" and then
read the "notice of changes in terms." It appears they are now
assessing a finance charge from the DAY THE PURCHASE HITS YOUR
ACCOUNT))
Margie, I've had a Chase/Amazon credit card for over a year now and
also pay my full balance each month. However, there is no annual fee,
and so far no finance charges. Do you pay online as I do? I chose the
Amazon card because that is where I seem to spend the most money and
receive $25 reward certificates very quickly. In fact, I'm waiting for
one now.
I just checked the hardcopy statement I received the other day. There
was no indication of a change in finance charge, and my annual APR is
still 0.00%. Maybe it's the type of Chase card I have. However, I will
watch my statements from now on to see if there is a charge.
