Re: Author Diana Gabaldon

This series really is about time travel--a lady who slips between two
stones in a formation in Scotland that is much like Stonehenge, and
finds herself transported to the Scottish Highlands in 1743. The story
is good, the history interesting and accurate, and the descriptions
vivid. I'm about 50 pages into the second book ("Dragonfly in Amber"),
and it shows promise for being as good as the first one.

It's especially interesting to me because we've traced our paternal
Scottish roots back to just about that time period. But anyway...the
first book, "Outlander", is an excellent read, and I highly recommend
it!

I love time travel books. There was a book called (if memory serves)
called "A Knight in Shining Armor" by Jude somebody. Very romantic.

Has anyone here read the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon? I just
finished "Outlander" and was spellbound! Two of the next three books
just arrived, bought used from Amazon, and I feel like someone dropped
a treasure on my front porch.

My transcription light is lit, my house is a mess, the laundry room
floor is full of piles of clothes, and I have presents to wrap, but I
think I'm going to time-travel back to Scotland in the 1740s...
