Vickie,
Wishing you very good luck in your new venture.
When I retired from transcription a year ago, I thought I would miss it and get back in it in a few months. I didn't miss it even a little bit.
In the last months or years transcribing, I experienced the same situation; less pay, more difficult dictators, and more demanding MTOs. I spent this last year doing some traveling, selling transcribers on eBay, and enjoying life.
My oldest son called me a couple of weeks ago and asked me if I would like to go in business with him. He said, "Don't laugh when I tell you what it is." I did laugh, but when he told me more, I got interested. This venture looks like we can get returns on our money anywhere from 60 to 90 percent!
I have had a ball being the "front man," getting to meet a bunch of new people, getting the business plan together, the fed and state tax stuff, the licensing, doing some buying to sell later, etc. I already got burned a little on one deal, paying too much, but our return should still be about 40 percent. Ah, but I learned a lot from just this one deal.
Again, good luck to you in your new venture. I would love to hear about it.
Neal
