Barbara, did you ever have that organist, a blonde lady about 50s, I
guess, who hauled her musical equipment all over - she'd play perfectly
during the classes and then haul out a romance novel to read during the
intermission? I just love her to pieces but I can't think of her name.
She did shows all over the US. I loved visiting with her in center ring
at the gaited shows. She's also a gospel singer. Dang why can't I
remember her name?
((Probably a little bit of both. Appropriate music must be chosen that
goes
with the gait. At large horse shows where there sometimes is either a
live
orchestra or more often an organist, they are experienced enough to
pick
music that goes with the gait and time it appropriately, but in a class
of
several horses it is more than coincidence that most of them are in
time
with the music! If the music were not appropriate, however, the horse
would
follow the rider's signals, but might not put in as perfect a
performance.
When I have shown horses at shows with an organ it has always seemed to
me
that the horses enjoyed the music as much as I did.))
