After much consideration over the past year and seeing the directionthings
have gone, I have decided to get out of the MT field all together. I willgone
be working on a project with some doctors locally, which should be quite
interesting, but if that does not work out, this field is one I really do
not want any part of any longer.
The only way I would work in it again is for the recruiting aspect as that
was quite rewarding to me, but as far as anything else, the way pay has
backwards, it to me is just thoroughly disgusting.a
I will not name the reasons I feel it has gone backwards (actually putting
blame on who it should be put on), but I must say that I will not miss it
bit. This field is one of the most disrespectful fields in the world tothe
people who work in it whether you work in management or work as the hardto
worker bees, the MTs. I respect all your hard work, all of you, who
continue to tolerate this. I hope the profession will turn around, but my
gut reaction tells me it will not and the absolute GREED that I see with
some of the MTSOs that I have encountered trying to get people to work for
nothing (I now am speaking of management--anything under $50K to me is
nothing) is despiccable.
Anyway, I am working on another project. I will continue to be available
mentor those who do feel that they would be good MTs, QA, etc. or will beI
available for consulting, but actually saying that my life is this field,
cannot do.I
I know many that leave come back, maybe because of the fact that you are
able to work at home, but I hear from people almost daily who are so
disrespected by their employers that to me, it is just disgraceful.
I know the number of years I have been in this field has been lengthy and
am not sorry because it has helped me to grow in other areas...I am justnot
one to sit and transcribe (that almost killed me), but I have found someof
the MTSOs to be takers to the point of no return.too
I'll still be around I guess. I have backed off a bit from the boards,
etc., as I have had other things going on, and I am going to try and
concentrate on doing things that I know will give me satisfaction rather
than the grief and insecurity of this field.
I am so glad that this is not the only thing I have ever done in my life
and putting other things together with the experience that I have hadmind
working in MT field I feel has really helped the other skills become
enhanced.
If any of you have been contemplating doing the same thing, let me know.
Email me at vhone@xxxxxxx as I am interested in what you might have in
to do. I am a tad too old to entirely go back for a degree and dosomething
else (well they say you are never too old...but I do want to get in onthat
early social security that will be available to me this year when I turn
62...that too had something to do with my decision).
Anyhow, hope all have a nice rest of Monday.
