I was totally unaware of the bad weather. My daughter is here visiting, and
I have been so sick of the Super Bowl hype on the news every night for the
last month that I have stopped watching the local news. I don't need to
know when the crew foreman takes a break to go pee--I'm exaggerating, but it
has been almost that bad.
We had one cold night, and it has been blowy, but nothing really out of the
ordinary. However, a close friend in Lady Lake said the devastation was
terrible. A friend only a mile from her lost everything. A concrete block
house was absolutely flattened, and 14 people in the area were killed.
That's more people than they admitted were killed by hurricane Andrew! I
know a lot of people up in that area because of my connection with the
horses, and everyone I know escaped damage, but those in the path weren't so
lucky. They said it was one of the worst tornados ever to his Florida. Has
anyone heard from Nae. She's up in that area, I think.

Thanks, but I was oblivious. The weather was way up north, in the Orlando
area. I'm way down the SW coast and Barbara is further down the SE coast,
probably enjoying the drizzly day like I am. Except for the creeping
dampness, it's been a terrific day for sleeping--hooray, it's my weekend!
Don't worry--tornados on the coast rarely amount to anything. It's the
hurricanes that are really out to get us.
