I'm quite surprised by the amount of people on this group, many of whom are paid by production, who are willing to have their time wasted sitting for unreasonable times in waiting rooms.

I haven't waited a long time in a long time. Twice with my second child I waited at the OB for over an hour and got mad, but that was because my husband had to get to work and there was the unavoidable fact that he had to leave at a certain time. One of those times was for an ultrasound, so yeah, we were pissed.

Otherwise, like Ed, I see it as a gift. I never ever ever let up on my day, not for one second. I am always doing something toward our bottom line here in the household (typing, stitching, designing, gardening/landscaping, couponing, writing, bookkeeping, and other such things) and I don't take breaks.

Being in waiting rooms is always a welcome respite, where I can just sit or sit and read for pleasure or play my game, which I would feel guilty playing when I'm supposed to be doing something productive.

(And sometimes I take things to do that don't add to our bottom line but that I must do anyway, like writing thank you notes and cards. And sometimes I take whatever hand work I've got going on anyway so I lose no time that way.)

I guess it's all in the way you look at it.
