Yes, pretty much any laptop or pc sold in the last few years would come with
an ethernet card.
Don't give up quite so fast, Judity. If you're going to buy a laptop,
just do it and be done with it. If you've got the equipment, they've
probably started your account for cable, and now you'll have to go
through trying to get that cancelled w/o any fees.
Any time that you make a change like going from dial-up to broadband or even
just changing providers there is usually some degree of thrashing involved.
That's just the nature of working with computers. There has been some
progress in making things easier to set up, but they still aren't very "user
friendly."
I would second Rae's suggestion to hang in there Judity. The dark side is
more than worth it and it's usually something quite simple that needs to be
addressed.
