@nospam.com:
I had my GB out the old-fashioned way back in 1966 when I was 24 years
old. They took my appendix out then too (used to do that
automatically), but they cut me from stem to stern - nasty scar.
Recovery used to be a long, drawn-out affair - 6 days in the hospital -
a month before I was allowed to drive a car. Things have sure improved.
I had mine done lap but I had to stay in the hospital for 6 days afterwards
and couldn't drive for 2 weeks. I got SO ILL with nobody believing that it
was my GB since I didn't have gallstones that they really didn't want to do
the surgery until I was a bit healthier but the doctor I ended up going to
said it couldn't wait after they did the nuclear study. It was a mess.
Childbirth was a walk in the park compared to my GB pains and the pain
after surgery.
