Re: No new posts

Thanks for the link, Neal. I checked it out. I did experience a
little difficulty navigating around the website to try and ascertain
what info I needed to get the NG server.

Man, it's Greek to me, but I think I can figure it out. LOL

Jennie,

What is needed is a newsgroup "server", rather than a "reader." You already
have the reader, whether it is IE to read Google or an e-mail reader, such
as OE, Thunderbird, etc.

I haven't looked at the server Ed recommended, but I and others highly
recommend news.individual.de. It costs 10 EUR per year which is less than
$14 per year. It seems to be reliable, is very fast, as a post will show up
here in a couple of minutes.

Yes, indeed. Every singe post I have written on Google NG in recent
times, I do not see them until the next day.

This is the way Google NG used to work when I first began posting,
slow as a turtle.

Most seasoned posters will advise to get a "reader." I haven't done
so yet, but it may be time to do so if this keeps up. It sucks to
post something and not be able to read the replies until a day later.

Guess that Google is running behind or something. My post below was
made two hours ago, and I don't see it on Google yet.

I've noticed a several hour or longer lag when reading through google
than
when reading through Xnews. I also notice more "spam-type" posts when
reading through google than when reading through Xnews.- Hide quoted text -
