In Texas yet.
(And I bet California is longer from North to South than Texas is wide
from East to West.)
the distance from El Paso, Tx to Texarkana, Tx is ~800 miles.
I couldn't find a city on the northern-most point in Ca, so I used
Brookings, Or to San Diego, Ca, which was ~900 miles.
If anyone has better numbers, I'd be interested in seeing them.
