So the files on the CD can't just be copied off the CD to my hard drive
and loaded to ES? They aren't saved in the format in which they were
recorded - in this case using Express Dictate?

Express Scribe can play the following voice file types:
1. wma
2. mp3
3. wav
4. dss
5. aif
6. au
7. aac
8. asf
9. dct
10. dvf
11. flac
12. msv
13. mp2
14. mpga
15. ogg
16. ra
17. ram
18. rm
19. sri
20. vox

If your doc used any of the above voice file types when he recorded his
dictations in Express Dictate, then you can copy and play the voice
files using your Express Scribe.

But why would he copy his dictation into a CD and mail it to you?????
It seems redundant, time-consuming, might be delayed or might get lost
in the mail.

The simplest, safest, and fastest way is to transmit the voice files to
your FTP or other free internet delivery systems.
