Interesting--I had never heard it pronounced with a long "i" before--that is
what threw me off and made me start looking for something different.

My docs always use a long "i" when they say "rigors". I thought that was
how it was supposed to be pronounced until this thread made me look it up!

Thanks everyone. I am going to go with "rigors and" even though no
matter how many times I listen to it, she is pronouncing it "rye-ger-sed"
with the long "i". But, it is the only thing that makes sense, sort of!
Patient did not progress to kidney infection, but responded to
antibiotics--at least until I hear otherwise. This is the office I never
get any feedback from, and they pay no attention to the file I send that
says "Read First." She has been messing up a number of pronunciations
lately, though, especially drugs, and she used to be a much better
dictator! Makes you wonder.
