The last time this happened to me it was a corrupt normal.dot file.

When I am working in Word, for some reason my computer will unpredictably
hang in Word and sometimes in Excel. I thought that just saving my work
frequently was solving the problem, but it's not. The problem seems to be
escalating, and it is making my productivity so low I'm about ready to
slam my tower on the floor to try to knock some sense in it to see if that
would work (because I'm sure having a crying fit, my first choice,
wouldn't help :( )
When I work in WP51, I have NO problems with crashing.
Yes, I have tried doing my Word accounts in WP51 in order to proof and
save in Word, like I have done before, but my fingers *remember* all my
Windows abbvs when I am doing those accounts and it's almost worse than
doing it without any expander at all.
Unfortunately, my fingers are *also* used to all my Word macros, or I
would just do it in Wordpad or something to use all my Windows abbvs and
then just pull into Word to proof and save.
I had thought this was a Smartype/Win *gag* problem, but uninstalling
ST/Win hasn't solved the problem, just alleviated it some.
Anybody have any ideas of what to try next before I cause too much trouble
with the people I work for from being so far behind? *sad and desperate
face*
Thanks.
