Thanks Karen. I've applied for approval for entry.
What turned out to be the standard for nonmedical work?
Many years ago, a hospital asked us to transcribe the minutes of a
meeting recorded on a microcassette. They gave us a list of the meeting
participants.
We were handling their MT work, and as a favor, we took that "meeting"
gig thinking it would be a piece of cake ...... BIG mistake !!!!
That one-hour tape took me several hours to transcribe !!!! The sound
quality was horrible. They obviously placed the microcassette player in
the middle of the table, and it was virtually impossible to determine
who was speaking what? In many instances, there were two or three
people speaking at the same time.
We charged them 21 cents per minute (which was a bargain in my
opinion), and vowed NEVER to take that gig ever again, unless they pay
us a small fortune.
