The sound quality was horrible. They obviously placed the
microcassette player in
the middle of the table, and it was virtually impossible to
determine
who was speaking what? In many instances, there were two or
three
people speaking at the same time.

Unfortunately, that's typical most of the calls that come in from
prospective clients wanting meetings transcribed. That's why
anyone thinking of doing that type of work needs to ask LOTS of
questions AND listen to the audio before agreeing to do the job
and before giving a price.
