Finally the day has almost come

Tomorrow I leave for Alaska. We are not going to where the webcams are
this trip so no showing off Jake. Wish one could post pictures on SMT
but you will have to request seeing them if you want to see some of
the bears.
We will be out in the bush with no communication from 8-12 to 8-16. My
family is getting a little anxious about me doing this, but I can't
wait. Pray for good weather because that is the only problem with
taking off in no visibility in a float plane. For the very first time
I took out trip insurance as there is no moneyback if one can't get to
go.
We will be at Hallo Bay on Katmai Preserve in case you read any
stories about people getting eaten by bears. This isn't the place
that we were able to see the bears at McNeil Falls last year. This is
about 30 miles away on the ocean. The salmon run is over for McNeil
and so we were not guaranteed of seeing bears. At Hallo Bay we are. We
are also hiking into the volcano there.
