Bambi,

I was replying to this statement Julie made in reply to my post:

"I'm not going to change up a
platform that works very well for the majority of people just to
please one or two MTs who can't adjust."

I don't appreciate being categorized as an MT who can't adjust and being
told that "no one else is having these problems."

Reading in a later post that the platform was changed (and apparently
dramatically from what I read) seems to contradict the first post.

So you asked to be placed on multiple specialties including inpatient
procedures then? I missed you stating you'd done that.

No. You are not correctly reading what I posted. I did NOT ask to be put
on multiple specialties. I was told that was the only way I could get a
higher line rate than I was making.

Confused again.... if you were able to do anything that came across, why
would your "meager" earnings have been lowered??

Again, not what I posted. I said it was not FEASIBLE to switch from ortho
to everything else in the hospital to make maybe a penny more per line.
(Again, I do not remember what I was making per line - maybe it was 9 cents,
although I still don't think so, since Julie said that they don't pay 8
cents after QA and never pay 8-1/2 cents per line.)

Had I made that switch, I would have been slower transcribing because of
unfamiliar dictation terms and procedures, and making less money.

I trust this will clear up your confusion.

Neal

It sounds as if you made a decision to limit the service you provide
so that you could fly along without a lot of effort on the stuff that
you're familiar with. That's fine, but certainly doesn't leave room
to be upset with a company who doesn't want to pay more for a person
who only wants to do less.
