Visible black characters. The people who are proposing this as a unit
of measure have zero credibility, having previously backed a
65-character line that they themselves professed to be unable to count,
so I don't see this going very far. If anyone asked me to bill using
that method, I would simply re-set my line charge to reflect the loss
of the spaces. I don't take it at all seriously, but I don't honestly
see what the fuss is about. I can bill by any unit the client likes
that doesn't make too much extra work for me, but that doesn't change
the price at all.
