Re: New member

Ok. Whatever. I chose this course because I felt it would prepare me
well for the working world of being an MT. I sure as heck hope that I
didn't waste almost $2,000 (probably more than that with interest
added on)!!!

Sorry if that all sounded "canned". I was just speaking my mind.

I joined this group so that I could correspond with, and maybe even
form online friendships with, other MTs and MT students out there.
I'm sorry if I came across like a complete bumbling idiot who doesn't
know what she's talking about. Yes, I have a lot to learn, I admit
that. But I'm not stupid.

I feel like I did plenty of research before choosing this course, and
the fact that it's one of the top 3 approved AAMT curriculums is the
main reason that I chose this one over the others. That, and the fact
that it was only $2,000 instead of....I forget how much more expensive
they were - but I know that I wouldn't have chosen this course to save
only $500 or less.

However, I cannot go back now and start over with another course. I
cannot afford to either monetarily or time-wise. Someone recommended
the SUM course to me, and when comparing that one side-by-side with
CS, the topics covered looked almost identical to me. However, had I
chosen that course, Lord knows how much more $$$$ I'd have had to have
shell out. And money doesn't grow on trees around here - I'm taking
the course so that I can quit my full-time job outside the home and be
at home with our now, 3-year-old son. If I had my way completely, I
wouldn't have to work at all. But you have to work to pay bills,
right?

I hope I have not offended anyone. I just wanted to give an honest
answer to that person's question from a current student's
perspective. That is someone who was like I was almost a year ago -
contemplating which course to take and just looking for some
guidance. This is all I'm going to post on this topic. Thank you to
those who have welcomed me. I'll just lurk for a while and post
questions and/or comments if I feel necessary.

Amy
