Re: Has anyone heard of "Girth Pain?"

Yeah, it worked out great at first, but the more confident they get with me,
the sloppier things are getting. Once I get into the swing of things with
my son being in school full-time, I'll have more time to devote to looking
for a way out. Having these things come up every so often is fine, but when
I find myself constantly transcribing notes out of nothing but key words and
random sentence fragments, it's time to move on. The negatives are
outweighing the positives these days - and there were some good positives.
I'm a darn good MT, but not such a good psychic!
They're wonderful people, they just don't understand how much goes into
transcribing their notes since it's all "behind the scenes" stuff. Perhaps
just doing it on-site a few days and letting them see I just make it look
easy might incite the adjustments that need to be made. ;-) The wheels are
definitely turning, because I'd rather have my teeth pulled each day than
work, and life's just too short to live it like that!

My goodness. I would not take a job like that for one second. Not one
second. There are other MTs here who do their job the way you do. Not
me. I am a hospital operative note transcriptionist, and have been for
years, other than a few extra things I may have done on the side.

Glaring errors are pointed out, flagged, or fixed. The rest of it?
Pfffft. It is not *my* job to recast sentences or change a statement as
much as you described wanting to change that one. I know what to fix and
how to fix it, usually, but lord have mercy, I could have made $50
(doing a good job, mind you) in the time you took fretting over this.

I hope they are happy to have you worrying over this stuff. I would
have long ago moved on to greener pastures. I am in this for the money
and nothing else.

Rae works like this, and does a great job, is never out of work. She
really knows her stuff.

I'm not a sub.

I think Jeannie was just saying that she would not want a sub who did
this, not saying you were a sub.

This is part of the agreement that I have with the doctor,
and this is how they want things done.

Yeah, I reckon they do! Good on you for sticking with it. :)
