Gotta love Michigan right now - not!

They keep telling the residents of Michigan that the Michigan State
Police will remain running in the event of this State Government
Shutdown, but what they aren't telling the residents of Michigan is
that as a result of cutting the force by 90%, which happens to include
the forensic labs and the Homeland Security Division, is that all city
and county law enforcement departments use and depend on the Michigan
crime labs, and with them closed, those that are victims of crimes
this very weekend are denied the timely and properly processed/
submission of evidence to help solve those crimes. Not only do the
majority of residents believe nothing bad is happening until Sunday,
it has already started. Troopers were told to not report to work on
Monday and their computer systems shut down. Now I have to worry that
with every contact DH makes this weekend whether he is at an increased
risk of encountering a cop-killer that he is not warned about due to
not having the computers to warn him prior. The Secretary of State's
offices are all closed. Recreational parks are closed. No further
sales of lottery tickets. No further sales of liquor (after current
inventory is exhausted). Schools may start to close within the next
couple of weeks if they don't receive their funds. This is just
terrible. Not only did she mess with the livelihoods of countless
Michiganders, she has sacrificed our safety, all the while putting it
out there that she is not willing to sacrifice public safety. @@
