if I could weigh in here, I won't take a flu shot because of the fact

A link between autism and mercury has never been demonstrated. People
can say that they suspect it all they like, but it has yet to be
proved. If you're pregnant, then that is a special case, and you
should discuss with your doctor whether flu shots are given to pregnant
women. It's not a matter of making your life easier; things won't be
easier for your baby if you get the flu.
