Shoot, I never got the original post, but: Go, Becker! Woo hoo! Those
are big ribbons!
The first show we took Jane to was at the state fairgrounds. Robin had
never had a horse like her - her first horse, Confidence, was known all
over for taking care of his young riders.
Jane, on the other hand, was NOT known for that. She went around those
courses so fast we were just slack-jawed and staring. We have pictures
of that first show. Robin, like Becker, is blonde, and pink cheeks show
up on her. All of her pictures have red cheeks from the effort of trying
to slow that mare down.
She started the day in formal attire, hair in a bun, crispy starched
stock tie. Jane had braided mane and tail. They looked like something
out of a magazine. The end-of-the-day pics, however, don't look like
that, LOL.
You keep that kid on his horse as long as you can, and he'll never give
you any trouble. When he gets bigger, he'll notice that barns are
overrun by GIRLS. I firmly believe that kids who ride/have horses don't
get in trouble.
The Pony Clubbers still laugh at me over that one.
