I sure said that wrong. I should have said "kids who have horses don't
get in trouble *as often* as other kids. Of course people are people
and there's a rotten apple in every barrel. That statement WAS pretty
bold. I knew what I meant. :)
I know what you mean. One of my theories on child-raising is that every
child needs a passion in life to focus on, especially before they hit age
13, or they will drift and end up having passions for things that are not
as beneficial. My children got through with passions for fencing, books,
home and car repair and improvement, and martial arts, in that order.

I always believed that very strongly also. A kid needs to have a strongt
interest and preferably a passion for something.
I would be concerned about a kid that didn't.
I would also be concerned about an adult that didn't.
