how to start?

Hi all,

I posted about a month ago asking for the best type of education to
get for the MT field. I've seen courses offered at various colleges,
plus Gatlin Education and MTEC online courses. The overall consensus
seemed to be the MTEC courses were the best. (note: I see they're
raising their prices in January '08.)

Anyway, so once I have passed the course, then how does one get
started in this field? You have no REAL-LIFE experience yet, just
from the course you passed. I have found 3 MT services in my general
area when I looked it up online - one in my city, one in a city about
20 miles away, and one in the next county over. Would I start by
applying with them? Is that how most MTs work - thru a service? Or
on their own? I also see MT help-wanted ads sometimes for various
hospitals and doctor offices.

Just wondering how the heck to get started in this. :)
