Re: Insurance thoughts

Your level of hope is quite low. Why shouldn't we the people get the
same level of health coverage that we provide for our esteemed leaders?

Maybe because I think some of the esteemed leaders have it too cushy and shouldn't be getting as much as they have connived to get over the years? (It's not just congressmen I think that about. I think the BART train operators have it too well off, also, because of their union's dealings. Unfortunately, they were successful, but that doesn't mean they were right.)

I urge you to see Michael Moore's Sicko. The reason we don't have that
level of coverage is because a bunch of corporate insurance greedheads
don't want to be denied their profits from taking our insurance premiums
and then denying us coverage so they can pocket the profits from turning
us down.

Lending all the more merit to the idea espoused by someone on one of the polical newsgroups at the start of the Clinton administration that the way to make medical care more affordable in this country is to get rid of every last scrap of medical insurance, and then let the free market drop prices to where they should naturally be.
