@corp.supernews.com:
My kids are 18 and 21 and can barely cook anything. I always encouraged
them and tried to involve them in the kitchen, but neither of them ever
showed much interest.
My son has LOVED to cook since he was old enough to stand in a chair and
stir the stuff with me. He got so excited when I had a Pampered Chef
party
for my friend who was selling it (he was 4). He REALLY wants me to buy
him
a waffle iron. I learned to cook at a very young age out of necessity - if
I wanted it, I had to cook it b/c as of the 4th grade I was left at home
alone a lot.
That's interesting, me too.
My mom managed my dad's cardiology practice, so I would come home from
elementary school and have to fix my own dinner.
I remember one of my favorite creations. I would sautee some onions and add
a can of garbanzo beans and some ketchup.
