I just want to thank those of you who posted about the neti pot.
After my 15-year-old niece told me that her doctor gave her one, and
that she really liked the effect, I bought one and used it for the
first time yesterday. It's not the most pleasant sensation, and the
bending and turning of the neck isn't easy for me, but I have to say
that I breathed easier last night than I have for months.

And if you like a bit of humor, check out this little clip: <language

Lord love ya - it doesn't look at all fun so I hope the benefits are
fabulous!

I have yet to try it, but my friend gave me a pediatric sinus rinse
kit she swears by. It's put out by NeilMed and says it's a "volume
therapeutic saline nasal irrigation and moisturizing system." She also
gave me Afrin, which works really well to clear the sinuses.

Afrin works really well but you develop a dependence on it fairly quickly,
usually after about three days of using it.

What happens then is that your nose will be chronically congested unless you
use it and even so its effectiveness decreases.

You can somewhat delay the dependence from developing by alternating
nostrils so that you can at least breathe through one side.
