All you California wet ones!

Did you make it through the storm okay? I did so enjoy the rain, the
first real strong one I've seen up here in years. My little road
flooded, but I had enough milk, water, and cat food to get me through
until today, so I was all set.
Okay, so the power snapped off to wake me at 3 a.m. and didn't come
back to around 9 a.m.. However, my little sterno stove kept me warm
with plenty of hot tea. For six hours, I snuggled under a pile of
blankets, stuffed cats around me, turned on my Coleman lamp to read
by, and listened to the local station for news of the storm on my
Black & Decker portable radio.
When it became light, I was shocked to look out my back window and see
the fences on both sides of my back yard had given in to the high
gusts of wind. One just lost slats, but the other was lying flat on
the ground. When the rain finally stopped, the men who lived on both
sides of my yard were out there propping up the fences. There is
nothing better than country neighbors, in my opinion.
I hope all of you who went through the storm with me only had minor
problems like mine.
