Well, I'm still working but don't want to. Can't someone on here figure out
how we can make money without working? Good lord there are enough of us here
we should be able to figure it out. I'm 59, tired of working (have been
since 17) and I know I will retire when I drop dead at this GD keyboard! :)
Son has been married over a year! They love their home they bought the
November after they were married so, they've been there over a year now.
They just bought a new car for his wife. They are really doing well,
obviously. She's a nurse practitioner and he's on his FIFTH year as a
firefighter! I can't believe it. Has it been that long since we've been to
VEGAS???? I was really upset to see the Monte Carlo on fire, my favorite
casino down there. Hope to get "fire sale" invites soon! :)
DH is still working civil service and I'm fuming. King George needs all
civil service employees to take two days off without pay to help cover the
cost of his war and this STUPID money he's sending people that we all have
to pay back in more debt in our budget! Prior to the award and idea of this
"refund", DH came home and said, "they're talking about forcing us to take
off two days without pay because the war costs are so high". ***!
Needless to say, I'm still writing senators and congressmen to the tune of
"Oh, no her again" but they do respond and are agreeing with me in some
cases so their is hope yet! :)
If I get any fatter I will blow up and explode. I swear it doesn't seem to
matter how much I walk, how little I eat my body isn't going to let go of
this stuff! I feel like I'm fighting a NON-losing battle!
Still have our two crazy cats. It snowed this morning so they were on their
"safe deck" briefly. The calico is not quite as into as the siamese. The
siamese being dog-like had to "play" in it for a while before he headed back
in.
I'm ready for a Vegas trip again. I need SUN and WARMTH! I do realize that
the cold we get here is probably nothing like the east coast and midwest
(although we did hit low teens). Still it is damp and gets into your bones
and stays there! :) We did have a sunny week last week but I don't think
it got over 30!
Well, I guess I have to get to work. I literally have done NOTHING work wise
all day. I have spring fever every day -- wishing for spring that is.
Judity you like rain? You need to be in Washington dear!

Okay, so I am procrasting...I have a HUGE pile of work to do and figured
I would start a thread on "updates". I often wonder how everyone is
doing since it's been so quiet around here and figure I'll start.....
I have been absolutely swamped with work. I have never seen it this busy
on a consisent basis year-round like I have over the last year. It is
great but boy are my fingers tired!!
We now have 3 horses. Romeo, my son's horse, is a now 6yo Belgian/QH
cross gelding who is the greatest horse ever. He LOVES my son. He's a
bit stubborn and I feel like he is acting like a snotty teenager
sometimes (the horse) but he is great for my son. My son is starting the
local show circuit on him next week so it will be a busy year. My DH
bought me a Polish bred Arabian gelding (Desco) for my birthday. He is
19 but you sure couldn't tell. He LOVES TO GO and is taller and bigger
than your normal Arabian. He is one of the most affectionate horses I
have ever seen. We added our third "baby" the Wednesday before
Christmas. His name is Dasher and he is a big paint with two blue eyes.
He is 7 and very collected and good-natured. He is really fitting into
his new home nicely and he and the younger gelding, Romeo, are pastured
together. They play like kids and love the Jolly ball I bought them. I
have never seen horses play like those two and it is a ton of fun to
watch.
We moved into our new house at the end of October and are still hoping
and praying that we sell our old house SOON! Fortunately work is
plentiful so the two payments aren't killing us but I sure can think of
other stuff to spend that money on. LOL! I love our new house and sure
can't wait to get it all "mine". We don't have grass yet because of the
drought and then it got too cold to plant sod so I am waiting on spring
to come so I can have a grass yard!!
Home school is going GREAT!! My son and I love it and if I would've
known how much we would love it I would have started doing it years ago.
Third grade is a tough grade for him as far as math goes but he is doing
well and his lowest test score so far is a 98. He has kept busy socially
with the 4-H horse group at the barn where we board our horse, playing
football and we are taking him today to sign up for spring baseball. He
is a good baseball player (pardon my bragging) and I am so excited to see
how he plays this year.
Okay.....I guess that's about it. NEXT................
.
